General Information on the Use of Cookies

This notice provides information about the cookies and similar technologies used by Dana Incorporation (“Dana”) on its website (the “Site”).  Cookies are small text files that are stored in your end device via your browser. Cookies do not cause any damage to your end device, but store certain information (e.g., page settings) that is sent back to us by your browser when you visit the Site again (depending on the storage period of the cookie).

The cookies we use are stored on your end device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or beyond the duration of your session (permanent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit (i.e., when you end your session and close your browser).  Permanent cookies remain stored on your end device until the storage time of the cookies expires or you delete them yourself.  The functional duration of the cookies used by us is listed in Cookie Overview below.

Most of the cookies used on this Site are set by us (so-called “first-party cookies”). However, we also may work with third-party providers (e.g., for analysis and marketing purposes) who also set cookies on our website (so-called “third-party cookies”). These enable us or you to use certain services of the third-party company. You can see from the below Cookie Overview whether the cookies are set by us or whether they are cookies set by a third-party provider.

Cookies have various functions. Certain cookies on the Site are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (so-called “necessary cookies“) (e.g., page navigation, saving page, displaying accessed videos). We base the lawfulness of the processing of this data on the necessity of the processing to protect our legitimate interests (effective, secure, technically error-free, and optimized provision of the functionalities and services on our Site).

We also set further cookies on our Site that allow us to analyze your use of our Site (such as your behavior and interactions, including page views, searches, download of content, click on links, number of visits, etc.) so we can improve its functionality and provide you with the best possible user experience. These cookies further help us to display content tailored according to your interests and preferences on our as well as on third party websites (so-called “analysis and advertising cookies” or “targeting cookies”).

These cookies are not absolutely necessary for the provision of the services and functionalities offered on our Site but help us to offer you a more pleasant and attractive user experience. Please refer to the Cookie Overview below to see which types of cookies we use in detail, exactly what purposes we pursue with these cookies, and how long these cookies are stored.

To the extent necessary under applicable laws, such as under certain European data protection and privacy laws, if you use the Site from a location in the European Economic Area (EEA), European Union (EU), or the United Kingdom (UK), we will ask for your consent prior to the use of analytics and advertising cookies and place such cookies on your end device only if you have provided your consent.  Similarly, if you reside in the state of California in the United States, you have the right to opt out of cookies that share your information.

A cookie is a small piece of data (text file) that a website – when visited by a user – asks your browser to store on your device in order to remember information about you, such as your language preference or login information. Those cookies are set by us and called first-party cookies. We also use third-party cookies – which are cookies from a domain different than the domain of the website you are visiting – for our advertising and marketing efforts. More specifically, we use cookies and other tracking technologies for the following purposes:

Targeting Cookies

These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They do not store directly personal information, but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.

Google Analytics

The Site uses Google Analytics 4 (“Google Analytics”), a web analytics service provided by Google, LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). Google Analytics uses Cookies to help us analyze how users use our Site and collects the following information for this purpose: browser type/version, operating system used, referrer URL (the previously visited page), host name of the accessing computer (IP address), time of server request, your behavior and interactions (including page views, searches, download of content, clicks on links, number of visits, duration of visit, etc.). This information is used by us to improve our Site. As a rule, any information generated by the cookie about your use of our Site will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the USA, a country which may not provide for the same level of data protection as considered adequate in the European Union (“EU”). We will only disclose your personal data to Google in the USA if you have provided your consent. In order to ensure your personal data is adequately protected, Google further undertakes to comply with the EU standard contractual clauses (processors) (see https://privacy.google.com/businesses/processorterms/mccs/). In addition, when collecting data, Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses.  IP addresses are used at collection time to determine location information (country, city, latitude and longitude of city) and then discarded before data is logged in any data center or server.

Google will use the information collected as our commissioned data processor to help us evaluate the use of our Site, to compile reports on Site activity, and to provide other statistical and analytical services relating to usage of our Site. To learn more about how Google uses information collected via our Sites, and for an overview of the privacy aspects of Google Analytics, see here.

The use of Google Analytics and the related processing of your personal data by Dana is based on your consent, which you can provide via our cookie banner or our cookie preference settings page. You can also withdraw your consent and prevent the collection of data via Google Analytics generated by the cookie about your use of our Site.  You can further deactivate Google’s tracking features at any time and opt-out of being tracked by Google Analytics across all websites by downloading and installing a browser-plugin.
